    Growth Hormone Secretagogue

A compound that stimulates growth hormone release from the pituitary gland.

    Definition

Growth hormone secretagogue is the mechanism class of Ipamorelin, which selectively stimulates GH release from the pituitary without significantly affecting cortisol or prolactin levels. Unlike GHRH analogs (CJC-1295, Sermorelin), secretagogues act on the ghrelin receptor to trigger pulsatile GH release. Ipamorelin is frequently combined with CJC-1295 for synergistic growth hormone optimization.
